Self employment and employment...everything a fitness business owner needs to know

IR35, Self-employed status, off-payroll working have been massive topics in the business world over the past few years. I have noticed an increasing amount of confusion among the fitness community and how fitpros and gym owners are impacted by this change. So I have partnered with Alice Hosker of Home of HR to break down what these confusions terms mean, what the impact on your fitness could be and what you need to do next.

In this 60 minute webinar (which includes time for questions), Alice and I will explore the following questions:

  •  What is IR35 and do you as gym owners/fitpros need to care?
  •  Why do you need to understand what self-employed status means?
  •  What impact could these have you on your business and what do you need to do?

Debbie Hancock from Southbourne Accountancy works with Fitness business, gym owners and FitPros to help them use their financial information to make informed decisions.

An accountant can help your business grow and help you improve your cash position and take home more profit.

It is not just about tax and tax savings (though of course that is important), it is about understanding where you are leaking money and what you can do to grow the business without causing yourself more stress.

We have partnered up with Alice Hosker from Home of HR who are an HR Consultancy based in Southsea, on the South Coast of England. They specialise in supporting small and medium sized businesses with all their HR needs.

Most recently, they have set up a new package designed for start up businesses and those who are taking on their first employees to provide support and guidance in what they as an employer need to make sure they have in place i.e. contract of employment, basic health and safety, statutory HR policies and procedures and ensuring all staff receive the statutory entitlements (holiday, pension, minimum wage). Alice and Home of HR also provide support on performance management issues, identifying talent in a business, recruitment support and assistance in grievance and disciplinary issues.
